Working papers on licensing company documents: what to redact, which documents buyers value, handbooks and confidentiality, and how to export a knowledge base. Each one starts with the short answer.

  1. Rights

Employee handbooks and confidentiality: can you license them?

Usually the parts your company wrote, yes. A handbook describes policies, not people. Take out named HR contacts, signed acknowledgment pages and benefit-plan summaries supplied by providers, check any template license, and make sure the license fits what the handbook itself promises employees about their information.

  2. Exporting

Exporting a knowledge base from Notion, Confluence or Google Drive

Inventory first, export last. Count pages per space, agree scope with a buyer, clean names and comments, then export only the agreed spaces in a format that keeps links and dates: Markdown or HTML from Notion, HTML or XML from Confluence, Word or HTML from Google Docs.

  3. Redaction

Licensing SOPs: what should you redact first?

Redact people first, then access, then accounts. Owner and approver names, supplier contacts and phone numbers go, then passwords, keys, hostnames and file paths, then customer account numbers. Comments and edit history come out before any of that leaves your systems.

  4. Document types

Policies, manuals and playbooks: which documents do AI buyers value?

Long, specific, in-house documents that show how work gets done: manuals, SOPs, runbooks and well-linked wikis. Short policies adapted from templates add little. Years of history, clear structure and specialist depth matter more than page count.

Keep documents, exports, share links and samples to yourself. We work from your description alone.

Where is the company based?

Wherever headquarters sits. Some buyers accept US firms only.
